NASCE Graduate Student Support for ICCE18

As we move through the first week in August,  I hope that NASCE graduate students are registering for the 18th International Congress of Comparative Endocrinology (ICCE18).  Since NASCE is co-sponsoring this meeting, we have set funds aside to support NASCE student participation.

As mentioned in an earlier e-mail, NASCE graduate students will have the opportunity to apply for a Travel Grant of $350 CDN) that will  reimburse the student for the registration costs (lunch and banquet included). The Local Organizing Committee will post a form after  the Abstract Submission Deadline (February, 2017) for you to fill out to be eligible for this Travel Award. To be eligible one must register for the meeting, pay student dues to NASCE in 2017, and submit an abstract.

We realize that some NASCE students may be traveling a considerable distance in order to attend the meeting, and those costs coupled with the hotel costs might present a financial burden. As a results a fund is available through NASCE to provide a limited number of Hotel Awards for NASCE Graduate Students. Please see the attached form for NASCE Student Hotel Awards, and provide us with the required documents.

Finally, in memory of the late Prof. Louis Gillette, there will be $500 award for the best presentation by a NASCE graduate student (oral or poster) in the area of physiological ecology/environmental endocrinology that will be presented at the meeting. To quality for this award, one must: register for the meeting, submit an abstract, and send an e-mail to me (rdores@du.edu) stating your desire to be considered for the award. Please attach a copy of your meeting registration confirmation, receipt of dues paid in 2017, and your abstract.

I am looking forward to seeing you at ICCE18,

Sincerely,

Robert M. Dores, Ph.D.
